Gravesham Street Pastors started in 2009. We are now recruiting for more volunteers to join us. Please let us know if you would like to join! We have a team out in Gravesham town centre every Friday night from about 10pm to 2.30am.
We are supported at our base by a team of Prayer Pastors, who pray for us whilst on patrol. Teams are also supported by those who pray for them at home. We do not preach or evangelise while on patrol, we are there just to Care, Listen and Help! This includes giving out pairs of flip-flops, bottles of water, sick bags, foil blankets and more. We also escort people to taxis, and stay with people who are unwell until they are safe.
We also remove bottles and cans from the town centre streets. Gravesham Street Pastors are now a familiar part of the town’s night-time economy, and are welcomed into the pubs and takeaways to chat to the people there. We rely totally on donations and on funding.
