Abingdon Street Pastors (ASP) is a charity (Registered Charity Number 1147016) that was set up in Abingdon in 2011
In collaboration with the Churches in Abingdon (CiA) and the Thames Valley Police (TVP)
with the support of the local Council. More than 30 people, from a range of churches in Abingdon, volunteer to support the ASP initiative, either as Street Pastors or Prayer Pastors, or as members of the Management Committee.
The objective of ASP is to care for, listen to, and talk with people on the streets of Abingdon at night; to work alongside Thames Valley Police to help to create a positive atmosphere for those having a night out; to offer help to individuals, especially the young and vulnerable, by providing practical assistance where required to keep people safe until they return home; to work with police, pub/club/&restaurant owners and taxi drivers so that incidents and crime are reduced and people are kept, and feel safe, when out for the night in the town.
Our shifts take place each Saturday night, from 10 pm until around 3 am. If you would like to find out more please get in touch using the form below.
