Ashby de la Zouch

Welcome

“Street Pastors is about Christians rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in practically responding to the problems of crime and safety. They are like beacons on our streets and I want to see them shining brightly in every constituency.”

David Burrowes, Patron of Ascension Trust

Ashby street Pastors launched in January 2010. We are out in Ashby Town centre on Market Street and surrounding streets, we’re also around the Hood Park Leisure centre and Bath grounds. We go out in either a team of 4 or 3 between 9.30pm and 3am on Friday and Saturday nights. During the summer months we are out between 6.30 – 11pm on Fridays.

We are currently looking for new recruits if you would like to find out more or come out as an observer to see the work that we do, then please contact our Coordinator. The role is one of simply Caring Listening and Helping with No Preaching! Every member is equipped for the role with a training course and a uniform.
Its Safe, we have fun and we meet lots of nice people. Quite a few people always say ‘oh I couldn’t do that its too dangerous’. We have a Safe Standard Operating Procedures and work with CCTV radios, and the Door Staff. If you’re between 18 and 80+ ! yes we have one Street Pastors who is in their early eighties!
