The strapline of Street Pastors is Caring, Listening, Helping. This month the emphasis was definitely on listening…

Immediately we left the base a couple of lads recognised our uniforms and understood what we did as Street Pastors featured in their GCSE Religious Studies course 10 years ago.

Some venues seemed pretty busy whereas others  seemed WAY quieter than usual. Although there didn’t seem to be a record number of people out, we did come across a pretty bumper crop of discarded glass bottles.

On the City Centre, next to the ARC we met a couple of lasses from Manchester, and having seen our uniforms, told us that her Aunty Mary was a Street Angel in Manchester (and quite unexpectedly) that her Grandad had a medal “off the Pope”. After a wide-ranging and cheery chat, we wished them well as they headed back to their hotel.
