Welcome to Bromley Street Pastors
Bromley Borough has a team of Street Pastors who operate within three quite distinct and busy areas across the borough. Teams regularly patrol the High Streets in Bromley, Orpington and Beckenham. Patrols will typically commence at 9pm or 10 pm and go through till midnight or 4 am depending on the area being patrolled.
We aim to come alongside people who are lonely and vulnerable, or who just want a friendly chat! There is a strong Christian ethos to our work and we aim to show that the church cares for people who would not necessarily enter our doors on a Sunday morning.
The Beckenham Team patrols on a Friday evenings from 10pm until around 3am and has a good level of community engagement.
Orpington team currently patrols three Friday evenings between 9pm and midnight a month. The Orpington team also patrols on 1 Saturday a month from 10am until noon.
We have built good working relationships the local pubs and restaurants and are well received by the people we meet. The is built from many local churches and is supported by churches in the locality. We patrol as a team of 4 on a once-a-month rota. We have good prayer support while we’re out.
