Cambridge

Welcome

“Street Pastors is about Christians rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in practically responding to the problems of crime and safety. They are like beacons on our streets and I want to see them shining brightly in every constituency.”

David Burrowes, Patron of Ascension Trust

Thank you for visiting our Street Pastors website.

We are part of a national team first pioneered in 2003, and Street Pastors continues to grow throughout the UK and across the world.

Street pastors are trained volunteers from local churches and we care about our community.

We patrol on Friday and Saturday nights to care for, listen and help people who are out on the streets without judgement. We work with our sister project NightLite which provides a safe space for people to rest, recover or wait for friends or a taxi.

We are led by our local coordinator and we also have support from local churches and community groups in partnership with the police, local council and other statutory agencies.

If you are interested in finding out more about our work, or are interested in becoming a Street Pastor, please contact us using the details on this page.

Cambridge Street Pastors urgently need help in Cambridge City Centre, once a month on Saturday night from 9.30pm to 3am.
Our teams of 4 Street Pastors walk around the city centre caring, listening and helping anyone who is out and about, offering water, flip flops, sweets, or help if required.
Others serve in our Safe Space, NightLite, where people can come for support, a listening ear, charge their mobile or to wait for their taxi in safety.
If you would like to join the team for an Observation night to give it a try, please contact our Coordinator on Cambridge@streetpastors.org.uk
