On Saturday 1st February six new Street Pastors were Commission at a celebration event.  The evening took place at St Andrew’s Church in Watling Street and was attended by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress and representatives from the Council, Police, Kent People’s Trust and the British Red Cross.

During the evening words of appreciation were spoken about the impact the Street Pastors have in our City on a Saturday.  Inspector Sharon Adley drew attention to the annual figures that demonstrate the team’s work in 2013.  The Lord Mayor spoke of her experience when she joined the Street Pastors as an “Observer” back in the autumn of 2013 and remarked on the goodwill that is extended towards the team as they seek to help, listen and care for those they meet in our City.
