Street Pastors are all volunteers from local churches who want to serve their local community. There are four teams, with one team out on the streets of Chandler’s Ford for four hours every Friday evening. As our area is a mainly residential area, the majority of our contacts are with the young people of the area.
There’s a training course for new street pastors starting on the evening of Friday 12th September 2014, taking up part of three weekends in all, with graduation on 12th October. Street pastors must be members of a local church and provide good references from their church leader plus one other. We’d love you to come out as an observer to see what’s involved.
We’d also love some more prayer pastors to join us – they support the street pastors by praying together during the Friday evening patrol and warm them up with hot drinks and biscuits at ‘half time’. No formal training is involved, just a strong faith and empathy.
