Notes of Gratitude

“Evening. Just wanted to say thank you for giving my fiancé flip flops who was walking home barefoot. I have so much respect for you . Thank you again.”

“I was particularly struck by the level of regard and goodwill there is towards the street pastors. Members of the public clearly value your presence – and your flip flops too of course!’

“I wanted to express my total sincere thanks to both your organization and the street pastors we met that night, I would be so grateful if you please relay my heart felt gratitude to them for us both for helping us carry on our journey, and for not only providing a unique service on the look out for people in need, you have an amazing operation with some amazing people, Thank you SO much again.”

“My daughter came and told me that last night you had given her flip flops after her night out with friends and that you had asked her if she knew the boys that she was with, thankfully they are good friends of hers but I was touched that you had asked as I know for many girls this isn’t always the case and they could find themselves in danger without realising. I wanted to send an email to thank you for taking the time to speak to my daughter and for also being there as support for so many young people”

“A high point of the evening was meeting a man who said how street pastors had helped him and his wife in The Strand several years ago, when they were being assaulted by a group of people outside Sandford Ale House. He was extremely grateful and said he only escaped serious injury due to the arrival of SPs on the scene.’…….. A great example of how Jesus leads us to those in need.”

“Just wanted to say thank you for your help last night. 2 of my friends were a little worse for wear and you were amazing helping to look after them. Thank you. Both are fine today if a little embarrassed but might have been a different story if you weren’t around. Thank you. “

“Good morning, just wanted to say what a fab job your guys are doing, even in the rain! They approached me as I was waiting alone for my boyfriend to pick me up and offered to wait with me as its 1am. It is good to know people still care and that they are looking out for us. Thanks again”

“Just want to say a massive Thank you to the street pastors who were out last night. And gave me a pair of flip flops. After taking my heels off they felt like pillows on my feet. Keep up the good hard work all.”

“The Street Pastors are some of the most wonderful people you could meet, and the service they provide to the people of Cheltenham is incredible. I feel so much safer out in the town centre, of an evening, knowing that these wonderful people are there should I need them (for anything from charging my phone to someone to listen to or a pair of flip flops!). The work these volunteers do is amazing, and they are a credit to our town.

Thank you Street Pastors for the wonderful work you do. You’re stars. ✨”
