On 30th June 2018, Cheltenham Street Pastors launched The Stable. The first Safe Space to be used within the Night Time Economy in this County.
Following a kind donation, we were able to buy a 7.5 tonne horse truck. It has taken a couple of months to convert it and now we have a purpose built unit which is stationed at Ormond Place between 10pm and 4am on Friday and Saturday nights. It has the facility to charge phones, carry out simple first aid, make hot drinks, stocked with resources characteristic of Street Pastors and an indoor and outside seating area for people to come for help or just for a listening ear.
At our launch we were very pleased to welcome Les Isaac to speak, the international founder of Street Pastors and also Alex Chalk MP also spoke.
We will be running The Stable alongside the usual foot patrol. But we need more recruits, so if you would be interested in joining our friendly team of Street Pastors please contact us via the contact page, we would be very pleased to hear from you.
Our motto is….
- To Help
- To Care
- To Listen
So if you have these qualities, we would encourage you to be involved, we provide a full training programme to ensure you are equipped to work as a Street Pastor.
