There are several ways you can get involved with Chester Street Pastors!

 1. Volunteer

We are always looking out for new Street Pastor Volunteers, and there are just four essential criteria:

  • You want to care for, listen to and help others
  • You are 18 or over
  • You’re prepared to apply for an enhanced DBS check
  • You are a Christian and have been a member of a local Christian church for at least 12 months (so we can request a reference from your church leader)

If this sounds like you, we would love to meet up or call you for a chat about getting involved with Chester Street Pastors. You’ll have the opportunity to join some of our current Street Pastors on a Friday or Saturday night to observe one of their patrols. If you like what you see, you’ll then be asked to complete an application form to become a Street Pastor!

Our volunteers follow a training programme throughout the year, so that every Street Pastor is continually refreshing their knowledge, skills and training.

We also currently have vacancies for volunteer Trustees. Please see the below job descriptions for more information:

2. Pray

If you’re someone who prays, Chester Street Pastors are always looking for people to support and back them in prayer.

You can pray for the Street Pastor patrols as they go out on Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm until the early hours of the morning. Pray for their protection and for great opportunities to serve others.

Why not join our mailing list too? You can keep up to date with what Chester Street Pastors are up too, and if there are any specific prayer requests.

3. Join Our Mailing List

The second way to get involved is to join our mailing list. We send out a monthly update on what Street, School and Response Pastors have been up to, and how you could help or get involved further.
