Response Pastors are existing Street Pastors who have received additional training in such things as dealing with trauma, so that they can be effectively deployed into the aftermath of a major incident or emergency.

The request to deploy the Response Pastors comes from the local authority within whose jurisdiction the incident or emergency occurs and via Ascension Trust. Response Pastors work outside any cordon established by the emergency services and provide care, compassion and practical help and support to those affected by the incident, whether involved directly or indirectly, and as directed by the emergency services “on the ground”.

Response Pastors have previously been deployed into situations such as the Grenfell Tower fire, the Manchester Arena bombing and the Shoreham air disaster.
