It has been a busy couple of weeks during the World Cup with lots of people coming in to town on the last two Saturdays.  Between the last week in June and the first week in July :

  • 7 volunteers gave a total of 36 hours volunteer time
  • We cleared 64 glasses and bottles from the street to prevent them causing injuries
  • We gave out 11 pairs of flip flops & 9 bottles of water
  • We had significant conversations with 31 people one of whom asked for prayer.
  • One person was accompanied to safety and 3 more were observed until they were safe.

We also searched for a lost mobile phone, cheered on the Sparkle walkers, received lots of grateful thanks and heard ‘It’s Coming Home’ sung more times than we care to count!

All that in just two Saturdays!  Our team will be out there again this week on the day of the battle for 3rd and 4th place in the World Cup.

Please support our Street Pastors in whatever way you can especially in prayer but also financially or by putting yourself forward as a volunteer.  For more information contact Jacky on chesterfield@streetpastors.org.uk.
