We are sad to inform you that one of our original team of Street Pastors, Ann Marie, passed away this week after a long battle with cancer.  We know that she is now free from all pain and is at rest with her Lord and Saviour.   We as a team have felt her absence for a while since she has been ill, but as is typical of the woman she kept things very private not wanting to trouble anyone else.

She will be fondly remembered by us all as a caring woman who was full of compassion for others and their problems.  She managed to keep up her role as Street Pastor even when combining that with caring for family members who were ill.  She found it easy to engage with people of all ages on the street and calling a halt to the chat was usually the problem!  She had a godly love for people and was genuinely interested in them. Pictured here (second from left) with one of our teams which I think shows how much she enjoyed being a Street Pastor.

Her other passion was her cherished Chesterfield FC and she was there at all the home matches win, lose or draw. At the end of our prayer time before the team go out she would often tag on a ‘thank you’ for a good result or a quick prayer for a better result in the next game! Her availability to come out on a Saturday night would be subject to the CFC home fixtures as she did not want to miss a match.

We thank God for her faithful service to our community as a Street Pastor for over 6 years and our prayers are with her family.
