What’s Happening with Edinburgh Street Pastors?

With the current public health crisis, you may be wondering what’s happening with Edinburgh Street Pastors.

Well, the good news is that we’re still here! The only thing that has happened is that our teams are not out on the streets patrolling on Friday and Saturday nights during the lock-down period. This is to support the national movement to stop the spread of infection and protect the population – I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s the right thing to do for now.

So what are Street Pastors up to just now? The answer is lots of things – our volunteers have been frustrated at not being able to be on the streets helping people in so many different ways, but we’re making up for it in others ways. Some are helping at food banks, some supporting our partner organisations like Bethany while others are helping their local church initiatives in delivering food and prescriptions to people who are isolating. Many things are happening with Street Pastors heavily involved.

We are looking forward to being back on patrol even though we don’t quite know when that will be. In the meantime were still here to listen and help if we can, so if you would like to speak to someone please do get in touch – either by the “contact us” section of the website or by leaving a message on the mobile phone number – 07523 267906 – and someone will get back to you as soon as they can.
