Margaret, from Team 5 and who also sits on our Management Committee has been very productive during the lock down.

We all feel a sense of frustration at not being able to patrol the streets and give help in all the ways we normally do. Last year we helped people on 3,000 occasions in Edinburgh, so we are all missing the opportunities we normally have as Street Pastors.

On the other hand, the current crisis has given us new chances to help people in a variety of ways.

Take Margaret for example – using her skills in craft, Margaret has been making much needed face masks for the community and people in local care homes. What an excellent idea! We’ve all seen the devastating impact of the virus in care homes and so making more valuable protective equipment available is a superb way of helping.

I think they look fantastic – well done Margaret!
