Street Pastors is an inter-denominational Church response to urban problems, engaging with people on the streets to care, listen and help.

Street Pastors was pioneered in London in 2003 by Reverend Les Isaac, Director of
the Ascension Trust. Police figures indicate that there have been some remarkable reductions in crime in areas where teams have been working. There are now around 9,000 trained volunteers in over 250 teams around the UK.

Evesham Street Pastors was set up by the Churches in Evesham. It is an independent Charity led by Trustees from Churches in the town. The day-to-day leadership is organised by a team of co-ordinators from various Churches. Evesham Street Pastors are supported and encouraged by the local Police, Wychavon District Council, Evesham Town Council and many of the clubs, pubs and businesses in the town.

Evesham Street Pastors are passionate about their town and the people who enjoy the night life in Evesham. The Street Pastors come from right across the Christian Community and can be anyone who:

  • Has been committed to a Christian church for more than a year
  • Has obtained a positive reference from their Church Leader/Minister
  • Has undergone a DBS (CRB) check
  • Has completed a 12-session Street Pastors’ training course
  • Is 18 years or over (but there is no upper age limit)
