About Us

Gravesham Street Pastors started in 2009. We currently have 47 on our rota, and are now recruiting for more – let us know if you would like to join us! We have a team out in Gravesham town centre every Friday and Saturday night from about 10pm to 2.30am and now have a team out every payday month until 4am.

We are supported at our base by a team of Prayer Pastors, who pray for us whilst on patrol. Teams are also supported by those who pray for them at home. In 2015 we helped and supported 272 members of the public, offering a listening ear, caring presence and practical and other help. This included giving away pairs of flip-flops and many bottles of water! We also escorted people to taxis, stayed with people who were unwell until they were safe.

We also removed 775 bottles and over 1554 cans from the town centre streets. Gravesham Street Pastors are now a familiar part of the town’s night-time economy, and are welcomed into the pubs and takeaways to chat to the people there. We rely totally on donations and on funding.
