Did you know that Kingston upon Thames has a purple flag? and if you did, do you know what it is for?

Well the purple flag is awarded to towns and cities that take it’s night time economy seriously and prove successful in key areas, these being, 1. Customer Wellbeing, 2. Safe Customer movement, 3. Appeal of the town, 4. Mix of different types of venues and 5. Safety of customers.

In all of these areas Kingston have been assessed and passed for the third year running, a great effort by all the partners concerned making Kingston a great night time destination, which shows in the thousands of people who flock to Kingston in the late evening.

Redevelopment of Ancient Market Place, Bishop’s Palace and All Saints Church.

  • Cultural Quarter includes All Saints Church, Riverside, Market Place and Rose Theatre.
  • Good transport links 24 hours daily. Rotunda, Pryzm, The Hippodrome and McCluskys operating adjacent to choice of transport links.
  • Regular live music available at O’Neill’s, Fighting Cocks and The Hippodrome.
  • Increased use of the Market Place and surrounding streets for cultural events, utilising the new more flexible design.
  • There are four Night Markets thought the year.
