November Update

Due to the worldwide crisis and the rapid suspension of the night-time economy in Lambeth, Lambeth Street Pastors have not been able to patrol during the night as per usual. Although some venues were able to re-open for a short while both lockdowns have had a huge impact on the night-time economy of Lambeth. Although we wanted to, we were unable to support Lambeth NTE during this time.

Due to safety special measures which had to be put in place in regards to social distancing etc, the venues we used for our base are still unavailable. So this means that we are still not able to do any night patrols until further notice.

We have missed you all and continue to pray for the businesses and staff especially, as the immediate future still looks uncertain for many.

The Good News

In the meantime, we are temporarily doing daytime patrols.

We are patrolling Brixton, Clapham and Streatham between the hours of 11 am and 5 pm.

We are aware that lockdown has negatively impacted the mental health of many over these last months due to the isolation, stress and anxiety caused by being indoors all the time and not being able to see friends and family or not knowing whether jobs are secure.

We thought it best to address this in a practical way by supporting you, our neighbour,  and by being a very present help in time of need.

So during our patrols, we are being intentional about having conversations with you and checking that you and your mental health are okay. If you need further support we can refer you to the Samaritans.

So come over and have a chat when you see us –  Don’t be shy. We are here for you!

We will still be there to offer support where we can but most importantly, we will be a listening ear and a source of encouragement to one and all during the day.

So come and say hi, take a photo or say a prayer but most importantly remember that we are here for you, to have a chat, laugh or cry.

We are all in this together and we shall overcome.

Special Measures

Please do not be offended if we do not stand too close, shake hands or hug you during this time as we are also practising social distancing. Thank you for your understanding.

Keep Safe and God Bless
