Over the year Street Pastor volunteers have offered over 400 volunteer hours to our city.
How does that change our city?
Firstly, it means that the hearts of the volunteers are filled with compassion for our city. Compassion leads to prayer and so we know the city is being prayed for. Bringing our concerns to God will help us notice how the city is changing and responding to the love of God.
Secondly, every hour spent on the streets of Leicester by a Christian means that God’s purposes can be fulfilled. That chance meeting, that demonstration of the love of God are all part of God’s great plan for our city.
Thirdly, Street Pastors are trained in a range of topics including mental health awareness and drug and alcohol awareness. This information can be shared with our home churches so that there is a wider understanding of the issues people face.
