As Street Pastors we love the city of Leicester and we turn this LOVE into practical help.

We go out no matter what the weather!!
This quarter we spoke to 192 people offering 107 volunteer hours. Those people we spoke to included Keith who regularly sits at the top of High Street. He often has a cup of coffee with us and chats about how life is for him at the moment. Keith is a rough sleeper but is fully aware of the range of services available to him. He appreciates the chat as many people walk by without looking or engaging with him. The number includes a young man who had been celebrating all day but had got himself so drunk his friends had left him as the taxis would not take him. We stayed with him for a while and gave him fluids. He began to sober up and so we were able to arrange for transport home. We spoke to Neil who was feeling low and disappointed with Leicester. We chatted for about 20 minutes with him sharing how disappointed he felt. We could not provide a solution but he thanked us for taking the time to listen without interrupting or shutting his conversation down.
Those are just a few of the stories from our teams this quarter. Each one demonstrates the gentleness of God meeting people where they are. The team makes no judgments on the decisions people make. They are just there to listen, care and help.
