All our Street Pastors and Prayer Support Team should meet the following requirements:

  • 18 years old or over
  • Someone who is a Christian
  • Part of a local Church (a reference is required from your Church Leader)
  • Concerned for their community
  • Willing to engage with people
  • Happy to work in a team

Have a willingness to work in partnership with the police and door staff

If you would like to consider becoming a member of the team then please contact us. After a short meeting, you will be invited out as an Observer on patrol before making a more formal application. There is some paperwork that will need to be completed and all applicants would need to undergo a DBS enhanced check.

There is a series of training sessions that have to be completed prior to commencing as a Street Pastor. Training will provide a full awareness of today’s social problems including:

Roles and responsibilities of a Street Pastor

  • Listening skills
  • Working with the Police
  • Alcohol and drug awareness
  • Street safety
  • Understanding youth culture
  • Understanding mental health issues
  • First Aid
  • Other topics as the needs are identified
