Penzance Street Pastors First Year of Operation, December 2012-13

Penzance Street Pastors has had its first birthday!  We were set up by Churches Together in the Penzance Area (CTIPA) and have served the clubbers and young people out at night for a whole year.  We have been out every Saturday night, except for two, in all weathers, until the early hours of Sunday morning.  We are backed up by a prayer team back at base.

In the last year we have disposed of 1,300 glass bottles and broken glass items, given out 114 pairs of flip-flops, 121 bottles of water, 16 foil blankets and 380 sweets!  We have helped 37 people in need, helped another 17 home and called the emergency services to 20 incidents.

Three Penzance Town Councillors came out with the team of volunteers last Saturday night on their first shift:  Cllr David Nebesnuick, Cllr Rob Simmons and Cllr Keith Perry.  They very much appreciated seeing at first hand what the Street Pastors do.

The team is seeking more recruits as street and prayer pastors.  If anyone is interested, email . (your church does not need to be part of CTIPA)
