5th Anniversary Celebration

It was with great emotion that we celebrated our 5th Anniversary on 23rd November 2013.

Friends, family, supporters and invited guests gathered together with us at St. Mary’s Church for a time of worship, Bible readings, sharing and reflection.

The evening included contributions from Network Peterborough, the Police, the Management Committee and Bishop John Flack. Two long-serving Street Pastors shared their thoughts on what it has meant to them to be a Street Pastor in Peterborough.

Many of our serving Street Pastors were present and they were re-commissioned, with the anointing of oil, to this important work of service in our city. b0e91f69985edf87b8d5884f29b90f41 The Celebration continued with the cutting of an anniversary cake, lovingly created for us by Julia Flack, then a splendid buffet served by members of St. Mary’s Church.

Family, friends and supporters enjoy a delicious buffet and get to know our Street Pastors.

Invited guests who attended included Stewart Jackson MP and The Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City of Peterborough, Councillor June Stokes.

The evening concluded with prayer for the Street Pastor Scheme and for those going out on duty that evening.

Two comments afterwards reflect what the evening meant to all of us:
“It was a good evening where we re-focussed on our role, reflected on our achievements and contributions, and gave thanks to God whom we represent on the streets of our city each weekend.”
“We felt borne on a wave of prayer as we left St. Mary’s [on duty] that night.”
