The work of Southampton Street Pastors is twofold, namely practical and pastoral. Our earlier post reflects some of our figures from the practical side. However, on the pastoral side over the last year we have prayed with 175 people on the street, provided 21 bibles and had 222 faith conversations. We are not an overtly evangelical ministry but people regularly ask us about our faith which provides for a very natural and gentle opportunity to share the Gospel with them. These precious moments would probably not happen had we not been on the streets.

We also have a wonderful relationship with our rough sleeping friend who are hugely vulnerable and this ensuing trust allows us to monitor their physical, mental and emotional progress and signpost them to appropriate support services.
