One of the weekend teams were speaking to a guy who was sleeping rough and new to the streets. He had a number of issues and appeared quite vulnerable. The team did what they could for the man and decided they would check on him later on. About 3.50 am the team returned and again spent time with him. By that time the team were in a part of the city they would never normally be towards the end of their patrol. Two girls came running over to the SPs and asked for assistance. They took the SPs to a very intoxicated young man they had come across who was prostrate on the pavement lying in a pool of his own vomit and urine. It was clear the young man was dangerously intoxicated and the SPs called an ambulance. He was then taken to hospital for treatment. The right place at the right time!
