Office Manager

Southampton Street Pastors is seeking a dedicated Office Manager to help support and further our growing ministry.

We’re an established and trusted Christian ministry within Southampton, with about 150 volunteers drawn from 50 local, Trinitarian churches. As an effective and positive team, we’re responding to the needs of our community together. We do this by undertaking 9 patrols a week in teams, and are actively looking to expand our work into other areas of the city.

Are you an organised, compassionate, and proactive individual looking to make a real difference in Southampton? As an integral part of our mission to care for, listen to, and help those in need on the streets of Southampton, the Office Manager plays an important role in ensuring the smooth running of our organisation. You will be a part of enabling the church to make a real difference on our streets, both safely and sustainably. We’re looking for someone with strong administrative skills, excellent communication, and a heart for Christian service.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing day-to-day administrative duties
  • Overseeing volunteer recruitment and bi-yearly volunteer training
  • Maintaining financial and operational records
  • Liaising with churches, local authorities, and partner organisations

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience in office administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital systems
  • A self-motivated, organised, and adaptable approach with high levels of attention to detail
  • A personal commitment to the Christian ethos of the Street Pastors initiative

This is more than just an administrative role—it’s an opportunity to be part of a compassionate response to the needs of our city, working alongside a highly committed team of volunteers and partners. You would become part of our small, dynamic office staff, reporting directly to the Coordinator.

We deal with many hundreds of people every year, often with complex needs. You will liaise with our partner agencies and other statutory bodies, and for that reason it is essential that you comprehensively keep a tight hold on our administration.

You will need to be an existing Street Pastor or agree to undertake the Street Pastor training at the earliest opportunity (45 hours over three weekends). You would also be required to undertake monthly Street Pastor patrols, in addition to one afternoon patrol a week.

We look forward to hearing from individuals who are excited to serve with us in this impactful and rewarding ministry.
