If you see Street Pastors on patrol then you’ll notice they carry a bag with them. Ever wondered what was in it? Well in this series of posts we shall find out!
The first thing is Lollipops. Why? Well there are 4 very good reasons:
- They are a good ice breaker; offering a lollipop often leads to a lovely conversation
- They are a good source of sugar; if one has had a little too much to drink a lollipop helps restore blood sugar levels
- They are a good calm restorer; in uptight or heated discussions a lollipop often defuses tensions.
- They are a good relationship builder; Street Pastors are often known and remembered for giving out lollipops which in turn can lead to being sought out in times of anxiety.
