aboutWalsall Street Pastors is made up of Christian volunteers from various churches and denominations across Walsall, who go out in teams into Walsall town centre on Saturday nights between the hours of 10pm until approximately 4am. We walk around the town centre streets, pub and club areas and back streets. We are there to provide help, to be a listening ear and to care for anyone who may need assistance or who may become vulnerable during their night out.

We work alongside the pub and club door staff, the Police and CCTV operators who can contact us if they feel someone needs our help.

In 2016 we:

  • Patrolled for approx. 200 hours
  • Removed:
    • 440 glass bottles
    • 515 cans
    • 72 glasses
    • 45 lots of broken glass
  • Gave out:
    • 89 pairs of flip-flops
    • 46 bottles of water
    • 43 cups of soup
    • 48 cups of coffee
    • 111 cereal bars
    • 24 space blankets
    • 15 vomit bags
  • Dealt with:
    • 15 first aid incidents (involving 6 ambulances)
    • 18 anti-social incidents
  • And had any number of deep and meaningful conversations!

All of this work is backed up by our Prayer Pastors team who provide prayer support for the Street Pastors and the people they meet during the night.
