halen and janiceA team of Three Street Pastors were on Patrol for our first outing of 2015. The team consisted of Veronica, Rez and Wayne. We were unfortunate that our fourth team member could not come out with us due to tiredness so we were just three.
As usual we visited the Bedford Hill area which was very quiet. Exhibit restaurant and night spot was closed for refurbishment. We were hoping to forge good relationships with the door staff there as we had not managed to do so up until now but this will just have to wait.
The Bedford Hill pub was quieter than usual with what seemed like half the number people as usual due to it being January but we did manage to greet a young man named Iain. He referred to us as Angels and commended our work.
We made our way to Clapham South Station where we found that it was more quiet that usual also. We met a man on the way who seemed to have a little too much to drink, when we approached him he was in need of directions to get to Tooting Bec, we were happy to assist him and point him in the right direction to get him to his destination.
Whilst at the station we had a few encounters with some people who needed assistance with their travel. One young man who needed to get to central London was pleased of our assistance to purchase an oyster card before continuing his journey.
After a fairly quiet evening we decided to finish a little earlier than anticipated just before 12 midnight.
It was good to start the year with a patrol despite it being very quiet and very windy. My cap blew off three times during the night.
