A team of 5 met at Balham Baptist church to patrol Balham Baptist Church a little after 9pm to patrol the streets of Balham. Athelia Rez, David, Veronica and Wayne met and were on the Streets on a warm and pleasant evening.
Balham was quieter than we had experienced in previous patrols which was extremely quiet. Most of the pubs and bars were only half full with the exception of the Exhibit night spot where we were fortunate to make acquaintance with the door staff there two months ago. We met a friendly doorman named Marcus who told us that there was little problems in the nightclub. We noticed that after the place had a makeover that there was a very mature audience in the as Street Pastors. He himself attended Hillsong Church and had an understanding of what we were doing.
When we passed The Bedford Pub it was as less than half capacity. The door staff said that it may get busier later in the evening.
We went to Clapham South Station and again it was very quiet.
We were pleased that the Streets of Balham were a safe place but on future patrols we may nee to deploy our labours in other local areas in Wandsworth (Watch this space).
