During November there were:

  • 4 Friday night patrols
  • 3 Saturday night patrols
  • 7 Patrols totalling 31 hours of cover involving 20 Street Pastors
  • 4 pairs of flip-flops were given and 300 lollies and Love Hearts

Here are some of the ways Street Pastor teams cared, listened and helped in November:

  • Assisted a man who’d fallen asleep on the bus and ended up in Wantage
  • Helped a drunk young man back to his home
  • Chatted to groups of young people

November was a fairly quiet month for Street Pastors, perhaps with people trying to save some money ahead of the Christmas season.

One of our teams encountered a man who had fallen asleep on the bus and ended up in Wantage. Our team helped him to get the right bus back to where he wanted to be!

Our earlier Friday patrol chatted to several groups of young people around Wantage and also visited the Sweatbox Youth Centre where they were able to offer a listening ear to those touched by the recent sad loss of two young people from Wantage.

One night we encountered a young man who had drunk too much and was struggling to find his way home. As he lived not far away our team supported him and took him home where his partner was able to look after him.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the work of Wantage & Grove Street Pastors throughout 2015, whether through prayer, volunteering, grants and donations or just being interested in what we do – thank you!

Best wishes for 2016 from all of us at Wantage & Grove Street Pastors.
