Monthly Report – January & February 2026

Patrols in January and February have been fairly quiet – as we tend to expect. Many
people don’t have a lot of spare money in January and it has mostly rained for the whole of
January and February!

In January one of our teams saw two ladies part ways. One got into to a taxi, the other got
on a bus – but as we approached the bench that they had been sitting on, we found one
had left her handbag! There was nothing in it with which to identify the owner but we were
able to return it to the owner the next day through our social media channels.

We spent some time chatting with two young ladies who were worried about recent crimes
that took place in Grove. Having Street Pastors out and about helps keep people safe and
is a great reassurance to many people – including their parents and grandparents at
home.

In Wantage we helped a lone female into a taxi. She was a little unsteady on her feet and
was really grateful for our care and support, especially in that she was on her own.

In February one of our afternoon teams got absolutely soaked when the heavens opened
just as school children started to make their way home at the end of the school day. It
wasn’t ideal for engaging anyone in conversation, however a group of lads, who we’ve
seen several times before, came over for a chat.
