What are the requirements?

Street Pastors projects are set up by Ascension Trust which is the governing body behind Street Pastors.  As a faith-based organisation, all our volunteers are committed Christians and members of a local church.  You must also be over the age of 18 and friendly!

What time do you go out?

We meet at 9:45 to prepare and are on the streets from between the hours of 10pm to 4am every Saturday night.  You will get a break between these hours and plenty of coffee!

Is there a uniform?

Every Street Pastor must wear a uniform.  Don’t worry, our winter coats are amazingly warm!

How often will I need to volunteer?

We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of one shift a month. 

Do I get training?

Street Pastors are thoroughly trained.  Some of the topics we cover are drug and alcohol awareness, listening skills, safeguarding, mental health awareness and much more.  You will also be asked to come out with us and observe as part of your training.
