Launceston Street Pastors are Christians from the local churches of Launceston and area, who go onto the streets of Launceston on Saturday nights to help, care and listen to those who may be in need.
After a launch meeting at the Eagle House Hotel in March 2013, attended by representatives of the churches, the Police and the Town and County Council; 11 people commenced training to become Launceston Street Pastors in June 2013. At the end of July after training had taken place on 27th July, 11 newly commissioned Street Pastors together with 4 Prayer Pastors began their patrols in Launceston.
Launceston Street Pastors vision is that we would be a people who listen, care and help. We don’t have all the answers to life’s issues and challenges but we want to play our part within the town to help make it a more peaceful place.
Launceston Street Pastors are managed by a Committee drawn from local church leaders, the Police and the Town Council.
