Elgin Street Pastors held our Ten-Year Celebration and Commissioning Service on Saturday 24th June at River Church in Elgin.  It was a wonderful evening.  We have been patrolling the streets of Elgin city centre on Saturday nights since April 2013, and launched school pastors in Moray in 2016.  Douglas Ross MSP presented us with a framed motion of recognition that he made to the Scottish Parliament recognizing the work of Elgin Street Pastors.  We were also informed by Chief Inspector Reid, that the police in Moray have decided to give £2,000.00 of funding they received for community initiatives, that help prevent crime and anti social behaviour, to Elgin Street Pastors. So two nice gifts.  They both had nice things to say about the work we do.  John Cowe, the Civic Head of Moray Council was there (he would be called the Lord Provost in other areas), as was Hugh McCulloch, the Principal of Elgin High School.  Both gave speeches praising the work of street and school pastors.  Chris Jewell, the CEO of Ascension Trust (Scotland) carried out the affirmation and commissioning of five new street pastors.

More photographs from the event are on our Facebook page, as is the report from the Northern Scot.
