Bideford Street Pastors are Christian Volunteers who patrol our town to care, to listen and to help anyone who needs some support. We are totally non-judgmental and not street preachers. We try to show the love of Jesus in a practical manner.

All our Pastors are trained to deal with the problems likely to present on the streets and equipped to provide basic care and protection to the vulnerable.

Street Pastors operate around the world and have a record of reducing anti-social behaviour and related problems in all those areas. We do not get involved in violence but seek to dissipate tension before it escalates. We provide emotional and pastoral support to anyone who wants it.

Bideford Street Pastors first teams were commissioned in a service at Caesars Palace Nightclub on 13 June 2009.

We currently patrol Bideford on Saturday nights from 10.30 p.m. – 2.30 a.m. We operate daytime patrols around the town centre and provide chaplaincy support to businesses and organisations.
We occasionally patrol in Westward Ho!, Holsworthy and Torrington.
We also have volunteers trained as local School Pastors and Prayer Pastors
