How to become a Prayer Pastor

Being a Prayer Pastor or a Street Pastor is not easy but it is fulfilling and incredibly rewarding.

If you’re interested in becoming a Prayer Pastor then the first thing we would like to do is invite you to come along one evening and join in with our Prayer Pastors and if you wish perhaps to go out for some of the time with the Patrol as an observer.

Please use the contact details on this website to get in touch and arrange a date or call Linda Owen our Prayer Coordinator on 07507 781850 for more information .

Prayer Pastors do not need to undertake the Street Pastor training but are invited to join in and many do.

Prayer Pastors are based based at the Speak Life Centre (formerly the Prayer Centre) in Lismore Road, opposite Debenhams. They pray with the Street Pastor patrol before they go out and then continue to pray for them and those out in the town throughout the night.

The commitment is to serve 13 nights a year (ie once every four weeks depending on the rota) usually from 10pm – up to 3.30am – 4am.

Some Prayer Pastors wish to support a particular Street Pastor friend / member from their church and so are scheduled in for the same night, others are happy to be scheduled whenever the need is greatest.
