International Stamp Out Spiking

This Saturday night we were out in the city of Leicester handing out SPIKEYS. SPIKEYS are a simple plastic gadget you can put into the top of a bottled drink which stops anyone else adding anything; such as drugs or alcohol. They are small and easily taken with you in a pocket or a bag.

As we handed them out we heard of many incidents in the past 3 months of people having their drinks spiked. There was no particular venue so IT CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE!! The one thing all the people had in common was that they reacted really badly to the spiking and had been VERY unwell.

We handed them out to venues as well as the public.

Venues across the city take spiking very seriously and there are anti- spiking gadgets available behind most bars. These might be SPIKEYS or TOPPS – which are toppers you can add to your glass.

REMEMBER TO ASK THE BAR STAFF FOR SOMETHING TO STOP YOUR DRINK BEING SPIKED.

Leicester Street Pastors will be out again later in the month handing out SPIKEYS and TOPPS so come over and get a supply.

IF YOU DON’T HAVE A SPIKEY OR A TOPPS THE BEST THING IS TO KEEP YOUR EYES ON YOUR DRINK AND DON’T LEAVE IT UNATTENDED.
