Our Street Pastors team has been patrolling in just one part of Manchester’s city centre since mid-2011, listening, caring and helping. With a larger pool of volunteers to patrol and to pray we could patrol more often in more areas. We need…
- Street Pastors: ‘boots on the ground’. You need to be 18 and a church member. The initial year includes training, which is a time commitment of a day a month, but the course is excellent and will give you skills for other areas of life and ministry. The minimum commitment for patrolling is one night a month.
- Prayer Pastors: ‘boots in the heavenlies!’ Our volunteers need the backing of people prepared to pray and intercede as the patrols are happening. The teams will be able to contact the Prayer Pastors with specific requests ‘live’ from the streets of Manchester.
- Management and Admin support. The project management team would benefit from adding two or more new members. Meetings are normally quarterly, with occasional further contact by email or phone. We could also use someone to help out with day-today running for a few hours a week.
