“1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England”

This training module is about equipping community workers with the skills to be compassionate towards those presenting mental health issues. It seeks to inspire the community worker to show the wider community how to love, care and support others, who for a time are experiencing great difficulty coping with and managing stress, anxiety, bereavement or other stressful life events.

Learning outcomes
  1. Gain an understanding of mental health difficulties and who has them
  2. Talk about the types of treatments available for mental health problems
  3. Gain the knowledge to help your community
  4. Have compassion for those presenting with mental health issues
  5. Examine some of the causes of mental health problems
  6. Gain some useful tips on looking after your own mental health
  7. Talk about strategies for improving and maintaining your mental well-being
