“The young people in our midst are here to be nurtured, mentored, guided and cared for.”
Are you a Street or School Pastor volunteer, a youth worker or work in a youth or education setting? This training module can help you to grasp what it is that influences the development of our youth and bring about effective change. Youth culture is changing fast. Young people have opportunities and pressures that we may not understand. If we are to are to serve young people well, we need to get to grips with their experience of culture.
Learning Outcomes
- Increase their awareness of the current youth scene
- Develop their understanding of the prevailing youth culture
- Enhance their ability and confidence to communicate with young people in the night-time setting
- Talk about the messages and attitudes that will help with the nurturing and building up of young people in the community
- Discover strategies to keep the lines of communication open between adults and young people
