We are launching Afternoon Patrols in Spring 2024. It’s time to start putting teams together now and to get trained up.
What we’re doing
We will patrol on Friday afternoons from 2.30 to around 5 pm in Wantage. The more people who join us, the more Friday afternoons we will be able to cover each month.
Why we’re doing it
There is a need for Street Pastors to be available in daytime hours to care, to listen and to help. County-lines criminals target young people as they make their way home after school. Just being present really helps to keep our young people safe. We will also help by being trusted individuals who are available to listen to whomever we meet – young people, shop keepers or members of the public.
How can you help
We need people from local churches who are available to patrol as Street Pastors on some Friday afternoons (once-a-month as a minimum). We also need other people to join our prayer teams. Everyone will be trained up and will work as part of a team. Initially, you will need to be available on some Saturdays or weekday evenings to attend training courses.
