Cork Street Pastors
Cork Street Pastors started on 14th July 2012. We are a Christian inter-denominational initiative in Cork providing a team of volunteers on the city streets to care for, listen to and help anyone who is vulnerable or in need of assistance, in the night time economy.
Saturday is our normal duty night from the hours of 10.30pm to 4am. This is extended to cover some special events such as Leaving Cert Results, St. Patrick’s night and part of UCC Freshers and RAG weeks.
The purpose for which the Company is established, as described under the Main Object of our Constitution, is to: Mobilise Christian volunteers from different churches to engage relevantly with those in need in Cork City and County. With a particular focus where issues of substance misuse, social isolation and vulnerability occur including individuals in need of support during times of difficulty. By facilitating training and organisation to enable volunteers to effectively care, listen and help those in need.
In the Media Section, you can view 2 videos about Cork Street Pastors, including a feature in the RTE made “Life and Soul” programme.
