Southampton Street Pastors is an established and trusted Christian ministry within Southampton with about 155 volunteers drawn from over 60 Trinitarian churches in and around Southampton. We are a very effective and positive reflection of our Lord’s Church responding to and in our communities within Southampton. To that end we undertake 9 patrols a week in various parts of the city and are actively looking to expand our work into other areas of the city.
We are now recruiting for a part time (3 to 4 days, dependent upon demand) Operations Assistant and are able to offer an annual salary of £23,000 pro-rata. The start date will be flexible, most likely the end of this year (2023) or early 2024.  A NEST (National Employment Savings Trust) Pension is offered (but is non-mandatory) and the position attracts 25 days holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays. The probationary period is 6-months.
The successful candidate would become part of a small, dynamic team and will make up an FTE (full time equivalent) of 3. You would need to be flexible, have a high level of attention to detail and be a motivated individual who shares our faith, values & passion for delivering the very best service we can. You would report directly to the Coordinator.
Ideally you would need to be an existing Street Pastor or, if not, agree to undertake the Street Pastor training at the earliest opportunity (45 hours over three weekends.) You would also be required to undertake a voluntary monthly Street Pastor patrols in addition to regular afternoon patrols.
