We need to recruit some volunteers to join our team. Could it be you? Our volunteers agree to patrol at least one Saturday per month in Chesterfield town centre. Responding to needs as they arise and calls from Police and CCTV they are there to help those who may have become vulnerable for a variety of reasons and also those who are on the streets due to homelessness or mental health issues. It may be a minor first aid issue, a missing phone or wallet, getting separated from friends or simply shoes that are living up to their ‘killer shoes’ status.
We help with flip flops, bottled water, first aid, a listening ear and reassurance and we will do all we can to make sure that anyone stranded has a safe option for getting home. We are the friendly face that you would want for your son or daughter if they were on a night out and in a spot of difficulty.
To be a Street Pastor you need to be 18+, to be a Christian and part of a local church. We provide the training and the team to patrol together with you. Please give it some prayerful thought. It is such a privilege to serve Jesus by caring for the vulnerable in this way.
Without more volunteers this valued ministry will disappear from our streets. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.
