Croydon Street & School Pastors

Hello again Croydon!

It was good to be out again on patrol and back amongst you last Friday night/Saturday morning. Our team of four Street Pastors were joined by two observers.

Outside Bernard Wetherill House we met the Greenlight Team from Hillsong who have a medical van where the homeless can obtain non-intrusive medical care and access a signposting service to help them gain access to appropriate assistance.

The Queen’s Gardens just outside Bernard Wetherill House is also where various community initiatives gather on a nightly basis to feed the homeless.

Our patrol route on Friday night took us up to East Croydon Station checking in at Box Park and noticing the now opened bar at the base of the new tower blocks whilst navigating the wind tunnel that is George Street.

We went back down North End going as far north as Broad Green, walking west along Church Alley, towards Mitcham Road, and back up Sumner Road before heading back south down London Road.

We collected and binned glass bottles along our route, amassing more than 100 bottles by the end of our patrol.

Numbers:

One hot meal
One bottle of water
One can of Coke and a bag of Haribo’s
Two prayers
Numerous conversations
101 bottles
10,934 steps
