On the 13th November 2019 Southampton Street Pastors received the Commander’s Award from the Mayor Peter Baillie after being nominated by the Police. The citation reads -“Providing a partnership that not only adds value to Policing but assists the Police in providing an improved service to the public. Offering support, care, guidance and prayer to those in crisis within the City of Southampton. Calling ambulances for those who are injured or incapacitated, offering a listening ear to vulnerable people and utilising other partners / services in order to signpost those in need.” One of our volunteers (a retired doctor) also received an award for his treatment of a badly injured Police Officer pending arrival of the Paramedics. In addition to this we were also nominated for the Chief Constables Focus Award.

This recognition is testimony to the passion of our 120 volunteers and to how much the Lord is able to change lives and improve our communities through His Church. We are but a representation of His Church (over 50 churches in and around Southampton to be exact).
